NDC will stay in opposition till ‘Thy Kingdom come’ – K.T. Hammond

Kobina Tahir Hammond, Minister of Trade and Industry, has announced that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will continue to oppose the government indefinitely.

After the President’s State of the Nation Address on Tuesday, February 27, Hammond stressed to Citi News that the nation is still headed toward recovery despite its economic difficulties.

The speaker claimed that the NDC consistently rejects proposals from the NPP due to ignorance and jealousy. He urged Ghanaians not to be influenced by propaganda from the NDC.

KT Hammond expressed confidence that the country will return to normal under the leadership of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the NPP, based on the president’s speech.

Regarding the NDC’s flagbearer’s absence from the 2024 State of the Nation Address, Hammond proposed that Ghanaians ought to back the NPP in order to maintain the NDC’s opposition.

“The NPP government has done fairly well considering the crisis we’ve all discussed and considering everything we’ve learned, and based on what the government is saying, I believe the nation will strongly support Vice President Alhaji Bawumia.”

“Don’t fall for the NDC guys’ propaganda—don’t fall for any of their propaganda at all. Why did they begin to yell, and why did former President John Mahama choose to attend the State of the Nation Address for the first time?

To be honest, I don’t know if he has ever attended during the eight years that President Akufo-Addo has been in office. John Mahama, the former president, made the decision to never go. He entered there today, and I’m not sure what he was signalling, but I can assure you that the good people of Ghana will see to it that the NDC remains in opposition until the arrival of your kingdom.
