Popular media personality and creative entrepreneur, Kofi Okyere-Darko, has been appointed as one of the spokespersons for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on the Creative Arts sector.

Joining him are actress and Parliamentary Candidate for Tema Central Constituency, Ebi Bright, and the Board Chairman of Ghana Music Right Organisation (GHAMRO), Rex Owusu Marfo, popularly known as Rex Omar.

This appointment comes on the heels of the official launch of the NDC’s Manifesto for the upcoming 2024 general election, which took place at Winneba in the Central Region on Saturday, August 24. The trio has been tasked with speaking on areas of the NDC 2024 Manifesto that pertain to the creative sector.

Their responsibilities include engaging with the media to provide further details on the party’s vision for the creative arts in Ghana. As part of the NDC’s plans to develop the creative arts space and boost the economy in that sector, the party has pledged to establish and promote ‘The Black Star Experience’ as Ghana’s flagship Culture, Arts, and Tourism brand to elevate Ghana as a top tourism destination.

The Black Star Experience will encompass a year-round celebration of various entertainment, artistic, and educational disciplines.

With their diverse backgrounds and expertise in the creative industry, Kofi Okyere-Darko, Ebi Bright, and Rex Omar are well-positioned to represent the NDC and articulate the party’s vision for the creative arts sector to Ghanaians.
