To choose its candidate for the general election of 2024, the National Democratic Party (NDP) will hold its National Conference in March.
The party’s leadership says they are hopeful about choosing and assembling their regional executives, which would open the door for the party’s flagbearer to be acclaimed.
Alhaji Mohammed Frimpong, the General Secretary of the NDP, discussed the party’s preparations for the 2024 general election in an interview with Citi News.
We will start organizing our national conferences and starting our activities in mid-March, when the regional conferences are scheduled to take place. However, we will elect and confirm our regional executives at our regional conference, who will be nominated and appointed by the Committee Organization Bureau (COD) executive. Then, in accordance with the law, we will officially inaugurate.
“We intend to have our national conference planned by the end of March, which would also happen to be the nomination period. Additionally, on the day of the National Conference, our flagbearer will be confirmed concurrently.
