Nathan Redmond, a winger for Southampton, has signed a permanent contract with Besiktas of Turkey.
The 28-year-old signed a one-year contract after finishing his physical on Thursday afternoon.
After six years at St. Mary’s, Redmond leaves Southampton with 232 appearances across all competitions, 30 goals, and 27 assists.
The Birmingham-born winger joins fellow newcomers Dele Alli, Romain Saiss, Wout Weghorst, and Arthur Masuaku at Besiktas as the club’s 12th acquisition of the summer transfer window.
After joining the team, Redmond expressed his excitement about the next challenge to the official Besiktas website: “I came to a wonderful club. I heard that Besiktas has a great fan culture and stadium.
“I haven’t played in the Premier League yet this season. I played in a few games before the season.
I think I will reach match fitness as I take time. It may take one or two games for me to reach my best form. However, I can say that my body is fit and ready to adapt to our team’s tactics by getting into the tempo again in training. Until one or two games, I will be ready when the team and our coach need me.”
