On Monday, February 26, 2024, members of parliament Sarah Adwoa Safo and Mathew Opoku Prempeh, the minister of energy, were among those who paid their last respects to the late Ghanaian fashion designer Pokua Poku Moutiseb.
At the church service held at the Lashibi Funeral Home in Accra, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh sat next to Adwoa Safo, dressed in the funeral’s formal colors of black and white.
Senyo Hosi, the former CEO of the Ghana Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors (BOST), was also observed expressing his condolences to the family.
Among those in attendance at the funeral were friends and colleagues from the creative arts field, including John Dumelo, Cookietie, Jay Foley, and Jasmine Baroundi.
Pokua’s Achimota School colleagues, led by Clarence Amoatey, the NDC candidate for the Yilo Krobo constituency, were also present and even performed a tribute.
Pokua Mouhtiseb, who gained popularity under the moniker “Poqua Poku,” passed away in the Lister Hospital on Wednesday, February 14, not long after giving birth.
On Monday, February 26, 2024, the 42-year-old was put to rest in Accra after a private funeral service.
Her spouse and her three kids survive her.
