Nana Yaa Jantuah, the former general secretary of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), has criticized Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam Anta’s appointment to the position of Finance Minister, replacing Ken Ofori-Atta.
Concerning his track record on economic matters, Nana Yaa has questioned what the State Minister of Finance contributes to the table.
She thought it would have been better if President Akufo-Addo had kept Mr. Ofori-Atta in place despite the criticism rather than appointing someone who would not live up to expectations.
“Ken Ofori-Atta as a banker couldn’t even succeed how much more Dr Anta. Does he have any knowledge of banking or economic issues? If we are reshuffling, then we should be serious about it. This is not musical chairs for anyone to move in and out,” she stated on Accra-based UTV.
She believed that Dr. Mark Assibey-Yeboah, a former Member of Parliament (MP) for New Juaben South, would have made a better replacement for Mr. Ofori-Atta.
She pointed out that “he would have been a better choice and done an excellent job.”
