South Korean actor Namkoong Won has sadly passed away. He won several accolades for his acting performances, including Best Supporting Actor at the Buil Film Awards and Best Actor at the Grand Bell Awards. He was also awarded with Order of Cultural Merit in 2016.

Namkoong Won was born on August 1, 1934, in Yangpyeong-gun, South Korea. His full name Hong Kyung-il. He graduated from Hanyang University with a chemical engineering degree before debuting as an actor in 1958 with the film “When the Night Comes Again.” He rose to fame with his heartthrob look, which earned him the nickname “Korean Greggory Peck.”
