Nagaenthran K. Dharmalingam was a Malaysian Indian who died on April 27, 2022.
He was convicted of trafficking 42.72 grams of heroin in April 2009 at Woodlands Checkpoint while entering Singapore from Malaysia.
The package of heroin was strapped to his thigh when he was caught.
Nagaenthran admitted to perpetrating the crime, but said that he was forced to do it by a mastermind who beat him and threatened to kill his lover.
He also claimed he did it to collect money to pay off his obligations, although he later denied knowing anything about the contents of his bundle.
He was 34 years old.
