Nadhim Zahawi is a Kurdish-British politician of Iraqi origin who has served as Chancellor of the Exchequer since 5 July 2022.
He has been the Conservative Party’s Member of Parliament for Stratford-upon-Avon since 2010. From 2021 to 2022, he was Secretary of State for Education, and from 2020 to 2021, he was Parliamentary Under-Secretary for COVID-19 Vaccine Deployment.

From 2008 to 2017, Nadhim Zahawi was paid £2,917 per month as a director of a staffing firm.
Between 2015 and 2018, he was paid more than £1.3 million by an oil and gas exploration and production company. Zahawi or his wife are said to own £100 million in property by 2021.
He is the vice-chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region. Gulf Keystone Petroleum International, an oil company, provides secretarial support to the APPG.
In November 2020, Zahawi became the first Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for COVID-19 Vaccine Deployment.
He stated in December 2020 that over 137,000 people in the United Kingdom had received a coronavirus vaccine in the first week of the vaccination program.
He currently lives at 11 Downing Street.
