Former Deputy Transport Minister Joyce Bawah Mogtari has commended the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for selecting Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as the running mate for the upcoming December 2024 elections.
In a press statement released recently, Mogtari expressed her belief that Prof. Naana Jane is the perfect candidate for the position given the current state of affairs in the country. She highlighted that Prof. Naana Jane embodies both authority and authenticity, qualities that make her a strong fit for the role.
Mogtari also expressed confidence in John Dramani Mahama’s decision to choose Prof. Naana Jane as his running mate. She emphasized the importance of strong leadership, especially during these critical times, and stated that there is no better person for the job than Prof. Naana Jane.
As Mr. Mahama’s Special Aide, Mogtari emphasized the significance of Prof. Naana Jane’s selection for the country’s development. She mentioned that having a woman in such a vital role is crucial for advancing gender equality and promoting inclusive governance.
Addressing concerns that Prof. Naana Jane’s selection might cost the party votes, Mogtari dismissed such criticisms, stating that they are baseless. She argued that Prof. Naana Jane’s capabilities and credentials speak for themselves and surpass any potential voter apprehensions.
Mogtari concluded by reaffirming her support for Prof. Naana Jane as the NDC’s running mate, praising the strength and depth of her candidacy.
She highlighted Prof. Naana Jane’s impressive track record, refreshing confidence, and advocacy for the voiceless, particularly women, as qualities that make her a formidable choice for the position.
