Ghanaian striker Inaki Williams has expressed his deep connection to Ghana after being named the best African player in the 2023/24 LaLiga season. The 29-year-old, who plays for Athletic Club, received 24% of the votes from a panel of African journalists and fans, beating out the likes of Brahim Diaz and Youssef En-Nesyri.

Williams has been in great form this season, scoring 12 goals and providing 3 assists for Athletic Club. His outstanding performances have been instrumental in helping his team secure a spot in the Europa League for the next season.

In his acceptance speech, Williams highlighted his love for Bilbao and Athletic Club, as well as his deep roots in Ghana. He expressed his gratitude for the award and stated his aim to be in contention for the same accolade next season.
