Popular actress Akuapem Poloo has opened up about her regrets regarding a controversial nude photo she took with her son and posted on social media in 2020.

The actress expressed her remorse during an interview on Accra FM, stating that the incident continues to haunt her.

Akuapem Poloo admitted that the photo, which she took to mark her son’s seventh birthday, was a mistake. She revealed that she constantly worries about how her son will perceive the situation when he grows up and starts asking questions about it.

The actress, who pleaded guilty to three charges related to the incident, including publication of obscene materials and engaging in domestic violence, was sentenced to three months in prison by the Accra High Court in April 2021. However, she appealed the sentence and was later released on bail pending the outcome of the appeal.

After spending two days in prison, Akuapem Poloo was able to meet the bail conditions set by the court and was released. In December 2021, the Appeals court imposed a fine of Ghc12,000 on the actress and reversed her 90-day jail term.

Despite the legal repercussions, Akuapem Poloo continues to grapple with the aftermath of the incident and the impact it may have on her son. She acknowledged that the memory of the photo and its consequences is something that will stay with her for a long time.
