New Real Madrid star, Kylian Mbappé, has expressed immense joy and satisfaction upon joining the European champions. He described his move as a dream come true during his official presentation to the fans.
Pictures of a 13-year-old Mbappé alongside Zinédine Zidane at Real Madrid’s Valdebebas training ground resurfaced during the event. Despite initially choosing a different path by joining AS Monaco and later Paris Saint-Germain, Mbappé’s journey has finally led him to Real Madrid.
The Frenchman left PSG as a free agent this summer, two years after rejecting a previous offer from Real Madrid to stay in Paris. This time around, he decided not to renew his contract with PSG and instead signed with Real Madrid, taking on the iconic No.9 jersey.
Due to his participation in the European Championship this summer, Mbappé’s unveiling ceremony was delayed. Nevertheless, he was eventually introduced to 80,000 enthusiastic Real Madrid fans at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.
Expressing his elation, Mbappé stated, “It is incredible to be here. I have dreamed of playing for Real Madrid for years. My dream is fulfilled today. I am a particularly happy young man.”
Real Madrid president, Fiorentino Perez, also shared words of appreciation for the new signing, saying, “I want to thank Florentino Perez, who warmly welcomed me from the first day. There have been lots of twists but I’m here. I also want to thank everyone who worked for me to come here. We did it – I’m a Real Madrid player.”
Mbappé will don the coveted number 9 jersey previously worn by his fellow French international teammate, Karim Benzema. Fans are eagerly anticipating Mbappé’s performance as he embarks on this new chapter of his career with Real Madrid.
