MP for Kumawu, Philip Basoah, passes away at 54

The New Patriotic Party member of parliament for the Kumawu constituency, Philip Basoah, has passed away at the age of 54. According to reports, he had been receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, where he eventually passed away on Monday, March 27.

Basoah’s death has been confirmed by the Majority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, in a tweet on Tuesday morning. Basoah was a well-known politician and educator, having served as a project coordinator for Ghana Education Service and as the District Chief Executive at the Ministry of Local Government for the Sekyere East District.
