After successfully finishing their apprenticeship training at Agotime-Ziope, some 122 young people, the most of whom are women, were given company start-up kits.
This was done under Charles Agbeve, the MP for the Agotime-Ziope constituency, Youth in Skills Training Initiative.
The MP created the program, which attempts to give young people in Agotime-Ziope possibilities for work and revenue generating in order to boost Ghana’s economy and prepare them for a better future.
The recipients completed their program with success and gained expertise in hairstyling and dressmaking.
At the Agotime-Ziope graduation ceremony, the graduates received 61 sewing machines and 61 hairdryers valued at GH¢195,200.
In an interview with Adom News, Mr. Agbeve stated that the program, which he funded with his portion of the MP’s Common Fund, was his way of helping the constituency’s youth find work.
“You should add value to what you have acquired through training before you can make a great impact and be successful as a business owner,” he said, urging the beneficiaries to enhance their abilities.
Additionally, I implore you to treat your clients with respect and utilize the equipment as intended.
Also thanking the MP for his kind action was seamstress Madam Peace Gbafa, a member of the Ghana National Association of Garments Makers.
Because of the MP’s initiative, she pointed out, some of the graduates particularly the young girls in the constituency who had been idle before are now involved in productive activities.
