After successfully completing apprenticeship training in Agotime-Ziope, some 122 teenagers, the most of whom are women, were given company start-up kits.
This was done as part of Charles Agbeve, the MP for the Agotime-Ziope constituency, Youth in Skills Training Initiative.
The MP devised the program, which seeks to equip Agotime-Ziope youngsters for a better future by giving them chances for work and revenue generating. The initiative aims to encourage economic activity in Ghana.
The recipients received excellent instruction and gained proficiency in hairstyling and dressmaking.
61 sewing machines and 61 hairdryers totaling GH¢195,200 were given to the graduates at a graduation ceremony held at Agotime-Ziope.
Mr. Agbeve stated in an interview with Adom News that the initiative, which is funded by his portion of the MP’s Common Fund, is his way of helping the constituency’s youth find work.
The speaker pushed the recipients to enhance their abilities, saying, “You should add value to what you have acquired through training before you can make a great impact and be successful as a business owner.” I also implore you to utilize the devices as intended and to treat your clients with respect”.
A seamstress and member of the Ghana National Association of Garments Makers, Madam Peace Gbafa, also thanked the MP for his thoughtful action.
She mentioned that because of the MP’s initiative, several of the graduates—particularly the young girls in the constituency—who had previously been idle are now involved in useful activities.
