Reality TV celebrity Anto Lecky has strengthened her position on the mass emigration from Nigeria.
In a video she posted on Instagram and livestreamed for DW, the former Big Brother Naija housemate advised Nigerians to thoroughly investigate their options before moving overseas.
She said, “Since coming to Nigeria, I have learned that as soon as we establish our own beliefs, we close off to those of others.”
She emphasized that leaving Nigeria is not always the answer that people believe it to be, emphasizing the value of having an open mind and the necessity for people to be receptive.
“Every location has unique problems; nobody is superior to anybody else. Moving away does not automatically solve all your problems; that’s what I want people to know. She remarked, “I am not opposed to leaving the country, but I have discovered that people are ignorant and believe that every nation is superior to Nigeria.
Lecky, who had spent the majority of her life in the United States, made the observation that people frequently have misconceptions because they do not have enough information before leaving.
“My motivation for coming to Nigeria is clear, but I do not really have a story.” I want everyone to think about their options before leaving Nigeria, even though it is a terrible place. How do you know that place is all that when you have never been there? She continued, “I am passionate because people do not have enough information.”
Lecky added that wherever they went, Nigerians would always carry a stain from their past.
“No matter where you go, people will always view you and other Nigerians negatively as long as Nigeria is perceived negatively. Before making the big decision, try to gather as much knowledge and experience as possible,” she advised.
Lecky’s remarks opposing the departure of medical personnel from the nation preceded this. “Some people misconstrued what I said. Once more, people are ignorant,” she remarked.
