The captain of Asante Kotoko, Danlad Ibrahim, has revealed the challenges facing the team as they continue to struggle in the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign. The Ghanaian giants have been facing sleepless nights due to their poor performance on the field.

Asante Kotoko has had a difficult second round of the league, suffering six defeats in their last seven games and only managing to pick up a single point during that period. This sharp decline in form has seen the Kumasi-based team go from title contenders to fighting for survival in the league.

Currently sitting in eleventh place on the Ghana Premier League standings with 33 points, Asante Kotoko is determined to turn their season around. Captain Danlad Ibrahim expressed his apologies to the supporters, acknowledging that they do not deserve the disappointing results the team has been experiencing.

“It’s very, very bad because a lot of us can’t even sleep and taking into context what we want to do for Asante Kotoko and our careers, this result doesn’t speak well of us the playing body,” Ibrahim said. “But we know its part of the job and the only thing we have to do is to change things around now, is to work hard and stay focused. Other than that, it could be worse.”

Asante Kotoko is set to face league leaders, Samartex, at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday as they look to improve their performance and climb up the league table. The team is determined to work hard and make changes to get back to winning ways and bring pride to their fans.
