Morgane Polanski (born 20 January 1993) is a French-Polish actress best known for her role as Princess Gisla in the History Channel series Vikings. Polanski made her credited acting debut in her father’s 2002 film The Pianist. She appeared in two more of his films, Oliver Twist (2005) and The Ghost Writer (2010), in which she had her first speaking role.
Polanski began playing Princess Gisla in the Vikings series on the History Channel in 2015 after making an appearance in the British independent film Unhallowed Ground. As the daughter of the French Emperor Charles the Bald, Princess Gisla made her Vikings debut in season three (while a legendary French princess named Gisela was the daughter of his grandson, Charles the Simple). In addition to writing the first short, she also directed The Stroke (2016) and The Understudy (2018). Polanski will appear in Wes Anderson’s new film The French Dispatch, which will be released in February 2020. Polanski will reprise her role as Princess Gisla in Vikings season six (part two), which will air at the end of 2020.
