Moonage Pictures, the production company behind Amazon Prime Video’s The Pursuit of Love, will adapt Holly Jackson’s New York Times bestselling juvenile crime thriller A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder for BBC Three.

The adaptation will be written by Poppy Cogan, who also wrote the BBC Three thriller, Red Rose.

A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder chronicles the five-year-old murder of schoolgirl Andie Bell, which everyone in the typically English village believes was committed by Sal Singh.

But Pippa Fitz-Amobi, the brilliant, slightly square heroine, isn’t so convinced, and she’s determined to prove it, despite the efforts of many to keep her from discovering the truth.

The book was published three years ago and has now become a New York Times bestseller, following in the footsteps of Conversations with Friends as a high-profile BBC Three adaptation.

“I’m really honored that Holly Jackson has entrusted me with the adaptation of her enormously popular and wonderful novel,” Cogan stated. “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder will take audiences on a thrilling ride with a relentlessly twisty plot and a cast of funny and idiosyncratic characters.”

Cogan co-wrote A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder with Zia Ahmed, Ajoke Ibironke, and Ruby Thomas, and Florence Walker will produce. Fiona Campbell, Controller of BBC Three, and Ben Irving, Acting Director of BBC Drama, commissioned the series.
