Montserrat Caballé was a Spanish operatic soprano born on April 12, 1933, in Barcelona, Spain to her parents Ana Folch and Carlos Caballé.
She sang a wide variety of roles but is best known as an exponent of the works of Verdi and the bel canto repertoire, notably the works of Rossini, Bellini, and Donizetti.
Caballe passed away at age 85 in Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, Barcelona, Spain on October 6, 2018, after battling a stroke.
She was a married woman with two children – a son and a daughter namely Montserrat Martí and Bernabé Martí Jr.
She got married in 1964 to Bernabé Martí – a Spanish Aragonese operatic tenor and parted ways after she passed on in 2018.
