Monica McCarthy is a filmmaker, actress, writer, facilitator, and podcaster who works at the crossroads of philosophy, psychology, and the arts. Monica has facilitated hundreds of workshops and keynotes across industries and time zones for The School of Life, Philosophy At Work, TEDx, and others.
Her popular event series and podcast The Happier Hour: Philosophy to Help Life Suck Less was featured in The New York Times as a public philosopher. Monica is also a director, as well as a Broadway and television actress. Survival Job, her first directorial short film, is currently winning awards on the festival circuit.
Monica returned to acting in 2019, studying with Tony Greco. She made her directorial and screenwriting debut in 2021 with the dark comedic thriller Survival Job, which was shot in an off-Broadway theater during the pandemic and has since won numerous awards and festival invitations. Monica is working on her M.A. in Creative Writing & Literature thesis at Harvard University.
