Ghanaian football sensation Mohammed Kudus has revealed his admiration for Nigerian football legend Jay Jay Okocha, calling him the greatest African footballer of all time.
Kudus, who currently plays for West Ham United, shared his thoughts on Okocha’s impact on the game, stating that he sees a lot of similarities between himself and the former Nigerian international.
During his illustrious career, Jay Jay Okocha achieved numerous milestones, including winning the Goal of the Year in Germany in 1993 and being named Nigerian Footballer of the Year multiple times. He was also recognized as the African Cup of Nations Top Scorer and Best Player in 2004.
In addition, Okocha represented Nigeria at three FIFA World Cups and won the BBC African Footballer of the Year award on two occasions.
For Kudus, Okocha remains an iconic figure in African football, with his flair, creativity, and entertaining style of play leaving a lasting impact on fans around the world.
“When it comes to creative players and entertainers, I have to say Jay Jay Okocha. His influence on the game cannot be forgotten, and his performances are etched in the memories of football fans,” Kudus expressed in an interview with Sky Sports.
In his debut season with West Ham, Kudus has been a standout performer, scoring an impressive 16 goals across all competitions in 38 games. As he continues to make a name for himself in the football world, Kudus looks to follow in the footsteps of his idol Jay Jay Okocha.
