Ghanaian football star Mohammed Kudus has once again proven his quality on the European stage, earning a spot in the Europa League Team of the Week despite his team, West Ham United, being eliminated from the competition.

The 23-year-old put in a stellar performance in the second leg quarterfinal match against Bayer Leverkusen, creating three chances and completing four dribbles – the most by any player on the pitch. His efforts were not enough to secure a win for the Hammers, who were unable to overturn a 2-0 deficit from the first leg in Germany.

Although West Ham took an early lead through Michail Antonio in the 13th minute, they were unable to hold on as Leverkusen equalized in the 89th minute with a goal from Jeremie Frimpong.

Despite the disappointing result for his team, Kudus’ individual display did not go unnoticed, as he was named in the SofaScore best XI of the week for the Europa League. His inclusion is a testament to his talent and contribution to West Ham’s campaign in the competition.

While the Black Stars attacking midfielder will be disappointed to see his team exit the Europa League, his standout performance against Leverkusen will surely have caught the attention of fans and scouts alike. Ghanaian football fans can take pride in Kudus’ achievements on the European stage and look forward to more impressive displays from the talented youngster in the future.
