A 19-year-old unidentified male was shot in the Back of the Yards area of Chicago on Monday afternoon after what has been described as a gang attack. According to sveral reports, the victim is currently in serious condition.
Investigators assigned to the case say at around four o’clock on Monday, the teenager was out walking in the 4400 block of South Wood Street when he was approached by a group of at least six people.
The victim was assaulted and beaten by the group before one of the suspects shot the victim in the chest and back, according to authorities.
The gang is said to have quickly dispersed from the scene of the crime while the teenager was taken to a local hospital where he is currently receiving treatment. There are no suspects in custody yet, and an investigation is ongoing.
This comes after an earlier deadly incident had been recorded within the same neighborhood.
