American legendary actor Mitchell Ryan has died. He died on Friday, March 4, 2022, at the age of 88.
Ryan was an American film, television, and stage actor. He is known for playing Burke Devlin in the 1960s gothic soap opera Dark Shadows, and later for his co-starring role as Thomas Gibson’s father Edward Montgomery on Dharma & Greg.
He has served the screen for 60 years.

According to his stepdaughter Denise Freed, Ryan died Friday of congestive heart failure at his home in Los Angeles. No further details were added.
Ryan’s Dark Shadows co-star Kathryn Leigh Scott said in a Facebook post that the late actor “was a great gift in my life. I cherish my warm memories of his beautiful soul. I’m heartbroken.”

Aside from his wife, children, and stepdaughter, Ryan was survived by his grandchildren Ashley, Jacqueline, Olivia, Kaila, and Noah; daughter-in-law Elizabeth; and sister-in-law Mary.
