Mircea Gherman is the grandson of Mircea Snegur who was a Moldovan politician who served as the first president of Moldova from 1990 to 1997. Before that, he served as the chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet from 1989 to 1990 as head of state and chairman of the Supreme Soviet from April 27 to September 3, 1990.

Mircea Gherman is the only son of Natalia Gherman who is the only daughter of Mircea Snegur and Georgeta Snegur. His father is Artur Gherman but much is not known about him. And much is also not documented about Mircea.
However, Mircea’s mother Natalia Gherman is best known as a Moldovan politician who has been serving as executive director of the United Nations’ Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate since 2023. She served as Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova from May 2013 to January 2016. She later served as Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Central Asia (UNRCCA) from 2017 to 2023.
