Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev has passed away at the age of 91. He was a Russian and Soviet politician who was the eighth and final leader of the Soviet Union.

He married Raisa Maximovna Titarenko in September 1953. They met while she was studying philosophy in Moscow.
She later earned an advanced degree at the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute. Afterward, she taught for a while at Moscow State University.
On September 20, 1999, she passed away from leukemia at the age of 67.
