Mikel Arteta gives positive update on Thomas Partey

According to an update from Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, Thomas Partey, a Ghanaian player, is almost ready to return to the team.

It was observed, though, that Arteta provided this information at a pre-game news conference before Arsenal’s forthcoming Premier League match at the Emirates Stadium against Newcastle United, which is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. GMT on Saturday.

Also, the midfielder has been sidelined since November 2023 due to a thigh injury sustained during a warm-up session before a UEFA Champions League match against Sevilla in the group stage.

The positive news is on the horizon, though, as Partey has been actively taking part in training sessions alongside forward Gabriel Jesus, who is also getting closer to full fitness following setbacks with injuries of his own.

Partey’s progress was discussed by Arteta. We need to work out the timing and when he has enough left in the tank to compete, but I think he is very close. We have another session today, and he has been out for many, many months,” she said.

Gabriel Jesus is making progress toward getting back into action, he added.

Partey’s absence continued into the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire, where his injury woes prevented him from playing for Ghana.

This, however, has worried many Ghanaians, as they were expecting him to perform as expected on the pitch. However, there is more hope, as noted by many Ghanaian friends.

Nonetheless, his excellent and exceptional imminent return will undoubtedly bolster Arsenal’s midfield options as they strive for success in domestic and European competitions.
