Michael Bossy, also known as Mike Bossy is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who was born on January 22, 1957, in Montreal, Canada.
He has played his entire National Hockey League career for the New York Islanders and was a crucial part of their four-year reign as Stanley Cup champions in the early 1980s.
Bossy is the fifth son among ten children of his parents, Dorothy – an English, and his father Borden, who maintained a backyard ice rink at their apartment building and happens to be Ukrainian.
Bossy, 65, in October 2021 shockingly announced that he has been diagnosed with lung cancer. The news got many worried as they wished him luck as he battles cancer.
Having said that, in the early hours of Monday, April 4, 2022, it was revealed that, Mike is resting peacefully at home while continuing his battle with lung cancer, according to Quebec-based sports channel TVA Sports on Monday.
The news comes after a report by The Hockey News said Bossy, 65, had entered palliative care.
