Miguel Van Damme was a Belgian professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper for Cercle Brugge. He came from Cercle’s youth team.
He was born on September 25, 1993, in Belgium and was married to his beautiful wife, Kyana Dobbelaere (m. 2018).

Van Damme hasn’t been fit since June 2016, during a routine check-up before the 2016–17 season where he was diagnosed with leukemia – a cancer of blood-forming tissues, hindering the body’s ability to fight infection.
In 2017 he was remanded in remission and he signed a new contract with Cercle until June 2019. He was said to have recovered from his sickness despite still needing medication daily.
In January 2020 Van Damme relapsed from leukemia again giving him a low chance of survival.
Despite this, he received immunotherapy and signed a new one-year contract with Cercle on June 16, 2020, and on October 18, 2021, he relapsed again, leaving him to battle leukemia for the fifth time in five years.
But, he didn’t survive it this time around as he passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at the age of 28.
