Miesha Tate is an American MMA fighter who was born on August 18, 1986. Tate began her fighting career as an amateur wrestler at Franklin Pierce High School in Tacoma, Washington.
Tate made her professional MMA debut at the HOOKnSHOOT Women’s Grand Prix in 2007. Strikeforce then called her up and signed her in 2008.
During her five-year run with the organisation, she became the bantamweight title and faced off against Hitomi Akano, Ronda Rousey, and Julie Kedzie.
Tate was signed by the UFC in 2013. After previously stating that women will never compete in the UFC, CEO Dana White credits the bout between Tate and Rousey for changing his mind.
Tate eventually won the UFC bantamweight title by defeating Holly Holms at UFC 196.
There is no question that she is one of the trendsetters of WMMA.

Miesha Tate made her relationship with Johnny Nunez public in January of 2018.
On June 4th that year, Miesha Tate gave birth to the couple’s first child together, Amaia Nevaeh Nuñez.
Tate then gave birth to her second child with Nunez, Daxton Wylder, in June of 2020.
