Michelle Emma May Elizabeth Donelan (born 8 April 1984) is a British politician serving as Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport since September 2022.

Michelle was born in April 1984. She grew up in Whitley, Cheshire, and at the age of 15 spoke at the Conservative Party Conference in Blackpool in 1999, having decided to be a politician at the age of six. She was educated at The County High School, Leftwich, and was awarded a bachelor’s degree in history and politics from the University of York. During her undergraduate study, she was involved in York Student Television.
Michelle previously served as Minister of State for Higher and Further Education from 2020 to 2022 and Secretary of State for Education for two days from 5 July to 7 July 2022. A member of the Conservative Party, she has been a Member of Parliament (MP) for Chippenham in Wiltshire since 2015.
Michelle was sworn in as a member of the Privy Council of the United Kingdom on 20 September 2021 at Balmoral Castle. This gave her the honorific prefix “The Right Honourable”.
