Michael James Wozniak is a British comedian, author, and actor who was born on November 8, 1979.
His most well-known roles include playing Brian in the Channel 4 sitcom Man Down and working on the Small Scenes production crew for BBC Radio 4.
Wozniak grew up in Portsmouth and was born in Oxford. He has a twin sister. He is of Polish and Welsh descent.
Wozniak began doing live sketch comedy in the late 1990s and stand-up comedy in 2007.
In 2008, he won the Amused Moose Laugh-Off competition at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The same year, he was nominated for a comedy newcomer award. Wozniak appeared at the Adelaide Fringe Festival in 2009. Wozniak was nominated for Best Comedy Show at the Edinburgh Festival in 2013 but lost to Bridget Christie.
Wozniak’s first major television role came in 2013 when he was cast alongside Greg Davies, the show’s creator and star. He played Brian, Davies’ character’s friend and stern financial adviser.
For Sky Arts in 2015, he wrote Ruby Robinson, a physical comedy starring Kim Cattrall and an acrobat troupe.
Wozniak appeared and finished second in Taskmaster series 11, which premiered in March 2021. He has a long history with Taskmaster, having won the original Edinburgh Fringe version of the show in 2010.
