Michael Trucco was killed in an automobile accident on the gorgeous Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California, on Sunday, December 2, 2007. During the accident, the automobile somersaulted, landing upside-down, with the impact impacting Trucco’s side of the car. Trucco suffered serious injuries, including fractures in four of his vertebrae. Surprisingly, his friend was unharmed in the incident.
Trucco initially lost feeling in his arms as a result of the accident, which was a horrific ordeal for him. He gradually regained sensation in his hands, allowing him to flee the wrecked car. Trucco used his cell phone to call for help, demonstrating great fortitude.
He received the required medical care as soon as he was evacuated to the UCLA Medical Center. On December 10, 2007, Trucco was discharged from the hospital following a difficult rehabilitation phase. Doctors noted that his injuries were eerily identical to those sustained by the late Christopher Reeve, which made the tragedy very nearly fatal. The fact that Trucco lived and recovered was evidence of his fortitude and tenacity in the face of difficulty.
