Michael John Douglas, better known by his stage name Michael Keaton, was born in the United States on September 5, 1951.

He is well-known for his parts in both comedic and tragic movies, such as Jack Butler in Mr. Mom (1983), Betelgeuse in Beetlejuice (1988), Batman / Bruce Wayne in Batman (1989), and Batman Returns (1992), Vulture / Adrian Toomes in Spider-Man: Homecoming from Marvel Comics (2017).

In the 1982 movie Night Shift, he had his breakthrough performance as the quick-witted con man Bill “Blaze” Blazejowski.

He later made appearances in a range of movies, including thrillers and action flicks as well as dramas and romantic comedies, including Clean and Sober (1988), Much Ado About Nothing (1993), The Paper (1994), Multiplicity (1996), Jackie Brown (1997), Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005), The Other Guys (2010), RoboCop (2014), Need for Speed: The Next Generation (2015), Spotlight (2015), The Founder (2016), Dumbo (2019), Worth (2020), and The Trial of (2020).

The English dubbing of Porco Rosso (1992), Cars (2006), Toy Story 3 (2010), and Minions are just a few of the animated movies in which he has lent his voice to characters (2015). He got a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Mini-Series or Movie and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Miniseries or Television Film in 2021 for his work as the lead in the Hulu limited series Dopesick. In the next 2023 movie The Flash, he will also play Batman once more.

Keaton won a Golden Globe for Best Actor—Motion Picture Musical or Comedy and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor in 2014 for his portrayal of the title character in Alejandro González Iárritu’s black comedy Birdman. Prior to then, he had been nominated for a Golden Globe Award for his work in Live from Baghdad (2002) and had five Screen Actors Guild Award nominations, which eventually led to four victories for his roles in Birdman, Spotlight, The Trial of the Chicago 7, and Dopesick.

The Hollywood Film Festival gave Keaton a Career Achievement Award in recognition of her achievements. He received the French title of Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters on January 18, 2016. At Carnegie Mellon University, he also serves as a visiting scholar.

At Ohio Valley Hospital in Kennedy Township, Pennsylvania, the youngest of seven children, Michael John Douglas, was born. He was raised in Robinson Township, Coraopolis, and McKees Rocks, all in Pennsylvania.

His mother, Leona Elizabeth (1909-2002), was a housewife and was from McKees Rocks. His father, George A. Douglas (1905-1977), was a civil engineer and surveyor.

Keaton grew up in a Catholic household. His father was originally from a Protestant family and was of Scottish, Scotch-Irish, German, and English ancestry; his mother was of Irish background.
