Michael James Jackson, a producer, engineer, and longtime Kiss colleague who worked on several of the band’s ’80s albums has died.

Paul Stanley, a singer, and guitarist, also paid tribute to Jackson on Twitter. “My dearest and best buddy for 40 years, Michael James Jackson, has died,” he wrote.
“His generosity and unwavering dedication to me and our friendship was a rock that helped me get through the roughest moments. He encouraged me to start painting and relished in my triumphs without reservation. Heartbroken.”
