Ghanaian former professional footballer, Michael Essien’s wife Akosua Puni has arrived at the final funeral rites of the late Christian Atsu at the state house where his final funeral rite is taking place this morning.
Ghanaians are in a state of mourning as they currently observing the state-assisted funeral rites of the late Christian Atsu Twasam, a famous Ghanaian international football star who passed after going missing in the immediate aftermath of the 2023 Turkey–Syria earthquake.
His death comes after several days of going missing. He went missing on February 6, 2023. On February 18, his lifeless body was discovered and was flown from Turkey to his family in Ghana on 20 February.
His funeral rites are underway at the state house today. March 17, 2023, with loved ones present at the event. In a video sighted, Michael Essien’s wife Akosua Puni was seen at the final rite of the late Christian Atus.
She was seen being escorted to her seat. Two others were seen behind her with sympathy bouquets.
