Since September 2022, Michael Ellis QC MP, who was born on October 13, 1967, has held the position of Attorney General for England and Wales.
From March to September 2021, he held the job in an acting capacity. Additionally, since 2010, Ellis has represented Northampton North as a member of parliament.

Ellis still lives in Northampton where he was born and raised. He completed his legal education at Middle Temple and the University of Buckingham before being admitted to the bar in 1993.
He participated in an exchange program while a student at the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.
In 1997, at the age of 29, he was chosen to serve as a county councilor for Northamptonshire.
He was elected as the party’s parliamentary candidate for the district in 2006 and triumphed with a margin of 1,936 votes and 34.1% of the popular vote.
Ellis founded an All Party Group on the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in November 2010 and served as its chair for the ensuing three years.
He was initially chosen to serve on the House of Commons Home Affairs Select Committee in February 2011.
Over the course of the 2012–2013 legislative session, he worked on the Draft Communications Data Bill. On December 11, 2012, Ellis participated in a Daily Politics program interview on this Bill.
