A woman identified as Elsie is a Tanzanian who is suffering from a rare condition called Hirsutism which causes her to grow facial hair. She has boldly come out about her struggles.
According to Elsie, she has been living with Hirsutism since childhood and has faced many challenges and hardships because of that.
Elsie revealed this in an interview with Wasafi Media, and gave reasons why men avoid falling in love with her or dating her, and how people often mistake her for a transgender.
She also stated that people who do not understand her condition tagged her as transgender. Men do not want to get close because they are afraid to date her and think she is transgender.
This act has gone on for a long time and sometimes she seeks the advice of her friends to know whether she is a real woman or transgender, and why men lose interest in her once they see her facial hair.
The Tanzania woman declared that she has accepted the way she is that she believes God created her this way for a purpose, and that she is not different from other women. She is a mother of one child.
“I accepted myself because it’s natural. I was given by God. But there are a lot of challenges that I do face. Some people think I am transgender, but I would like to clarify that I am a woman. I have been blessed with one daughter and I am just okay. Many people wonder when they see me because I look different, but I am just like any other woman. Men fear me and they go around asking my friends if I am a real woman or transgender,” she said.
