Meg Ryan is an American actress who was born Margaret Mary Emily Anne Hyra on November 19, 1961. She made her acting debut in the drama movie Rich and Famous in 1981, launching her professional career.
Later, in 1982, she became a cast member of the CBS soap opera As the World Turns. She then started to show up in supporting roles in movies in the middle of the 1980s, such as the blockbuster Top Gun, before being well-known through her work in the romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally… (1989), which was directed by Rob Reiner and earned her her first Golden Globe nomination.
