Philip Rivers is a retired professional American football quarterback.

He was born on December 8, 1981, in Decatur, Alabama. Rivers played college football at North Carolina State University and was selected fourth overall by the New York Giants in the 2004 NFL Draft. However, he was immediately traded to the San Diego Chargers, where he spent the majority of his career.

During his 17-year NFL career, Rivers was known for his passion, competitiveness, and durability. He played for the Chargers from 2004 to 2019 before joining the Indianapolis Colts for the 2020 season. In 2021, Rivers announced his retirement from professional football.
