John Axelsen’s full name is John Paul Pultz Pinnerup. Axelsen, a professional golfer from Denmark who competes on the European Tour, was born on January 23, 1998. When he was five years old, Axelsen first learnt how to play golf from his father. He was made in Holbaek, Denmark. In addition to winning the Reid Trophy for English boys under-13 and medals in 2012, 2013 and 2014 at the European Boys Under-16 Championship (European early Masters), Axelsen displayed exceptional skill at a young age.
He participated in the 2018 Eisenhower Trophy-winning Danish team. He won the Order of Merit in 2022 and has four victories in the Nordic Golf League. Axelsen won the Destination Fyn Pro-Am championship in September 2020, earning him the title of Danish Golf Tour Rookie of the Year.
Axelsen won the 2021 Nordic Golf League Made in HimmerLand Qualifier. Axelsen improved to third position in the 2021 Race to HimmerLand Ranking, earning a spot in the European Tour’s Made in HimmerLand.
Axelsen signed up for the European Tour Q School in November. His tie for the seventh-place finish after six rounds earned him a card for the 2023 European Tour season, which was an improvement above his previous Challenge Tour rank obtained through the Nordic Golf League.
