Atiku Abubakar, a former governor and vice president and not only that a presidential candidate was the only child of his parents as his younger sister died at infancy.
He said he didn’t want to feel alone nor did he want his kids to feel the loneliness he felt growing up and that is why he has a big family.

He first got married in the year 1971 to Titilayo Albert, The children they have together are Fatima Adamu Halima and Aminu.
In 1979, he married ladi yakubu. She gave birth to 6 children for him. They are Abba, Atiku, Zainab, Ummi-Hauwa, maryam and Rukaiyatu. He later divorced her.
In the year 1983 he got married to his 3rd wife Princess Rukaiyatu, they gave birth to Aisha, hadiza, aliyu, Asmau, mustafa, laila and abdusalam. In 1986 he married his 4th wife, she gave birth to amina, Mohammed, two set of twins : Ahmad and shehu and then Aisha and hafsat.
