The Tanzanian squad Young Africans defeated Algeria’s CR Belouzidad in Group D with a commanding 4-0 score, crushing the hopes of the Tarkwa club.
Following their earlier defeat to Al Ahly in Kumasi, Medeama SC was relying on a potential draw between Young Africans and Belouzidad to preserve their slim hopes of advancing to the quarterfinals.
It is now mathematically impossible for the Yellow and Mauve squad to place in the top two in Group D, nevertheless, following the victory of the Young Africans.
On March 3, the team managed by Evans Adotey is set to play their last group-stage encounter of the competition against CR Belouzidad, in Algeria.
