Multiple award-winning American music and movie legend Meat Loaf has joined his ancestors.
He passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at the age of 74.
Confirming the news, his agent took to the artist’s official Facebook page to say their hearts are broken.
“Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight with his wife Deborah by his side,” the statement said.
It added: “Daughters Pearl and Amanda and close friends have been with him throughout the last 24 hours.”
No cause of death was shared but in 2016, the singer collapsed at a concert in the Canadian city of Edmonton and was admitted to the hospital. The cause was dehydration, a spokesperson said at the time.
In the 90s, Meat Loaf, born in Dallas on September 27, 1947, released two top albums (Bat out of Hell and Bat out of Hell II: Back into Hell) which gave him numerous hit singles including Paradise by the Dashboard Light, Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad and I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That) in the 90s.
He has won many prestigious awards, including Grammy in 1993 for Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance for the song I’d Do Anything for Love.

While announcing his death in the Facebook post, his agent didn’t highlight his funeral and burial arrangements. They may need time to plan his funeral and burial.
