The Argentine is currently in the news due to his dismissal letter from PSG. After 18 months in charge, Mauricio Pochettino has been fired as manager of Paris Saint-Germain.
The former Tottenham and Southampton head coach led PSG to the Ligue 1 title last season, but losing to Real Madrid in the Champions League round of 16 appears to be one of the main reasons for his departure.
Nice manager Christophe Galtier is the frontrunner to take over as PSG coach.
The Argentine reportedly met with PSG’s hierarchy in early June, and a review of the 2021/22 season concluded with the decision that the 50-year-old coach would not continue as manager of the Ligue 1 club, despite the fact that the sacking was only finalized in July.
Pochettino’s contract was set to expire in 2023, but he has decided to leave after leading the club to the Ligue 1 title.
At the moment he has not been poached by any clubs.
