Maurice Lindsay who served as the chairman of the Wigan Warriors in two separate spells has been pronounced dead on 17th May of 2022.
He is credited with many aspects of the modern professional rugby league and also with the creation of a powerhouse team in his beloved club Wigan Warriors.

The former Wigan Warriors and Preston North End chairman are reported to have been married, however, there remains little public information about the identity of his wife. Maurice Lindsay preferred to keep his personal life very private to the extent of keeping a career-threatening illness to himself while he was so he could still serve the club he loved in his role as chairman.
Lindsay made the Warriors a formidable force in the eighties and was responsible for the many star names and future Hall of Famers that have walked through the doors of the club. He also helped with the stabilization of Preston North End football club
