
Maurice Lindsay, the former chairman of the Wigan Warriors, passed on at the age of 81. Lindsay became part of the club four decades ago and led them through a period of transformation that included eight consecutive Challenge Cup victories.

He was a part of the recruitment process that brought in some of Wigan’s biggest names, including Ellery Hanley, Brett Kenny, and Martin Offiah. Lindsay was respected and admired throughout the rugby league world and will be remembered as a visionary for having proposed the Super League, which forever changed the face of rugby league.
At the moment his autopsy report is not ready which has made it difficult to know the reason behind his death. He was a married man for over four decades and had several kids however as most celebrities do he kept his immediate family from the media space for reasons best known to him.
