Matthias Schmid is a German professional golfer. He was born on November 18, 1997. Schmid was the top amateur at the 2021 Open Championship and won the European Amateur in both 2019 and 2020. From 2017 to 2021, Schmid played for the Louisville Cardinals, winning the Old Town Club Collegiate in 2018.
In both 2019 and 2020, he won the European Amateur. The 2019 tournament was held at Austria’s Diamond Country Club. Schmid led after three rounds with a 63 and won by three strokes over Euan Walker.
